How to Wear a Faux Fur Coat This Winter

One of the biggest trends I’ve noticed this winter, is the faux fur coat. Of course, they’ve been around for years, but it’s certainly become a staple in my winter wardrobe this year. But, how do you wear a faux fur coat? Here’s how I styled one of my current favourites…

I probably spent a good couple of months searching for the perfect faux fur coat, before I decided on this one, from Boohoo. I knew I wanted a neutral colour, and this one is the perfect combination of faux fur and teddy bear style. It’s exactly what I wanted! Not only does it look like a teddy, but it’s so soft, it’s literally like hugging a teddy bear too.

Another factor to consider when choosing the perfect faux fur coat, is the length. This coat is the perfect length to keep you warm and cosy, without being too bulky and long. If you prefer shorter coats, there’s lots of faux fur options out there, in many different colours and styles. The options are endless!

So, how to wear a faux fur coat this winter? Coats are that final layer that not only add warmth to your outfit, but style as well. I went for a light brown/neutral shade, because it goes with everything, which makes it easier to style alongside different outfits. Neutral shades are versatile and go with any outfit, so you can get even more wear out of it!

This coat has popper fastenings at the front, and an oversized collar. The fastenings are quite low, but the collar almost acts like a scarf, which you can pull in to keep you warm. It doesn’t only look warm on the outside, but it’s warm on the inside too, which makes it perfect for winter.

Faux Fur Coat Outfit

Faux fur coats can easily be dressed up or down, depending on what you decide to wear it with. I styled it with a multi-coloured, knitted jumper, and I love how the colours complement one another. I also paired it with some black, coated skinny jeans, and a pair of grey, lace-up heels. Even though the outfit is colourful, the coat is definitely a statement piece. I also wore my black, Radley London bag, to complete the look.
