One of my favourite, and most popular fashion items this season, are faux leather trousers. They’re an autumn/winter staple, and my favourite recent purchase! These trousers come in various styles and colours, so you’re bound to find a pair you love! In this post, I’m going to share 5 ways to style faux leather trousers, to give you some inspiration on the latest fashion trend…
1. The Ultimate Winter Outfit

For complete warmth, you could wear faux leather trousers with a chunky knit jumper, a faux fur coat, and chunky boots. The fit of these skinny trousers gives definition to your legs, so I styled them with a slightly oversized, chunky knit jumper. As it was super cold when I shot these photos, I completed the look with a faux fur coat. The leopard print pattern and pink collar really add a pop of colour to the outfit.

If you wear these trousers during the winter (and I’d recommend it, because they’re warm), then you can’t go wrong with a jumper and coat to complete the look. I also styled this outfit with a pair of black, lace-up boots, which are perfect for when it’s cold. To complete the outfit, I wore my black, Radley London bag, so that the colours are quite similar and classic.

2. Oversized and Casual

What’s great about faux leather trousers is how versatile they are, and how you could style them in so many ways, and they’d still look incredible. If you prefer a more casual look, you could style them with an oversized jumper and Vans. Again, I wanted to keep the colours similar, so I went for a classic, all-black look.
Chances are, you’d be wearing (fleece-lined) faux leather trousers in the colder months, so to keep you warm on top, why not go for an oversized jumper? This jumper has a roll-neck, for extra warmth, and it sits at just the right length.

Vans are great for when you want to dress casually, as they’re comfortable and easy to wear. They also come in many different colours, and go with lots of different outfits. These Vans look great with faux leather trousers, because black goes with everything. I completed this look with a black, cross-body bag. Going hands-free is ideal when you want to go for a casual vibe!

3. City Chic

Faux leather trousers can definitely be worn for a more formal occasion, and I’ve done this by styling them with a satin shirt. Nothing says ‘chic’ like a satin shirt! The colours complement one another, and the length of the shirt sits at the top of the trousers (it’s slightly cropped), so you can really see the waist design. I love how these trousers fit around my waist, as they look flattering with their slightly high-waisted style.

To complete the look, I paired this outfit with a black, faux leather jacket, and black, peep-toe heeled shoes. If you want to add more colour, you could always wear a different colour satin shirt, and even match that to the shoes! I chose to match the colour of the shirt with the bag, to keep the outfit quite neutral. This cross-body bag, from GUESS, completes the chic look – perfect for a day in the city!

4. Adding Patterns

If comfort is key for you (and let’s face it, we all like to be comfortable), then another way to style these trousers is with a patterned jumper. Patterns add something a little different to solid colours, and can really make a difference to your outfit!
I chose to wear an off-shoulder, navy and white striped jumper, which is perfect for any body type, and looks more stylish than just a regular jumper. Paired with the faux leather trousers, it makes the whole outfit look effortless.

Similar to the other casual outfit, I wore my black Vans again, for complete comfort. They’re really easy to style, and look so good with these trousers, for more of a daytime/casual look. The black, cross-body bag also completes the comfy outfit, whilst keeping the details minimal.

5. Graphic/Band Tees

The final way I styled these faux leather trousers is with a long sleeve top, which also happens to be merch from my favourite artist, Miley Cyrus! A long sleeve top is perfect for a chilly autumn day, but you could also add a jacket, for more of an evening look. A simple leather or bomber jacket would take this outfit to another level! These trousers would look great with any style of graphic/band tee, for a slightly edgier vibe.

I completed the outfit with a pair of chunky boots and a cross-body bag. Again, I went for an all-black look, but you could add colour wherever you like. The photo on the front of the top really stands out against the black, and it’s ideal for a street style look. You could always mix and match different colours and patterns; whatever your personal style is!
