It’s amazing, isn’t it? We’re almost at the end of summer, and we’re finally getting that summer weather we’ve been waiting for! Nevertheless, stripes have been a huge trend this season, and I can see why. They never seem to go out of style, and there’s something about stripes that just scream summer.
There are so many ways to style stripes – whether it’s a top, dress, jeans – the list is endless. I was searching for a striped top that was light and airy, and I found this one in Primark. I was immediately drawn to the colour (blue is my favourite), and it was exactly what I had in mind. You may have seen this top in my Primark Haul, and I couldn’t wait to shoot it for my blog.
I chose to tie it up at the front, as it’s quite long and baggy, and that was not the look I was going for in this post. I wanted to emphasise the skirt, and I wanted to add a little more style by altering the top slightly. I love the Bardot style and simple detailing around the sleeves, as I think it adds to the whole summer style. I also love how this top fits my body, as the contrast between the vertical stripes and horizontal (off-shoulder) fit of this top, really complement one another. This style looks so effortless, and it’s a huge reason why stripes have been a trend this season.
This asymmetrical skirt is one of my favourites, as it’s really flattering and it goes well with so many different outfits. I decided to keep the bottom half of this outfit quite neutral, with this white skirt and nude heels, and I love how they look alongside the blue and white striped top. The little black bag and blue sunglasses just top off the outfit, and everything works so well together. This bag is also a lot more practical than it looks – I get everything in it that I need, and it (thankfully) stops me from taking too much out, because, we all do that, right?
Some of the items I’m wearing in this post are no longer available online, so I have linked the closest products I could find. These are marked with an asterisk. (*)
