NEW YORK STYLE DIARY - DAY ONE...

As some of you may know, I have recently got back from spending a few days in New York, where I went to celebrate my 21st Birthday.. I know, it was amazing!

I thought I would create a style diary of the outfits that I wore throughout my trip, so, here is day one...

DENIM AND LACE...

I'm obsessed with the floral lace detail in this crop top - it's so delicate and beautiful, and the colour is perfect for a simple, yet classic, look. It's amazing how much the little details can really change the vibe of an outfit. I really love the style of this top, as it fits so well, and the length is ideal. The material that this top is made from allows for the perfect fit, because it's stretchy enough to flatter your figure, with room to breathe! The narrow straps also add that extra bit of detail, which contributes to the overall delicate feel to this crop top. The only thing I would say, is that you should be careful with jewellery and small accessories with this top, as I've found that they can catch quite easily on this type of fabric, as it's so delicate.

These denim shorts would be a great addition to any summer wardrobe - they are definitely a staple item of mine in the warmer weather! They are super easy to style, and so comfortable to wear. The ripped design with exposed pockets really do add a bit of edge to the outfit, which shows a contrast when paired with such a delicate crop top. As festival season is upon us, a pair of ripped denim shorts would be a great choice - especially with all that mud to be avoided!

Surprise, surprise, my current favourite pair of heels are back in yet another post... They are perfect for dressing up an outfit, like this one, although you could opt for something a little more comfortable, and go for a pair of nude flats or sandals.

PASTEL SHADES...

Pastel shades are such easy colours to wear, as they go with so many things. I think this jumper would be great to wear for summer evenings, as it's not too thick and bulky, and the sleeve length is ideal to wear when it's not too cold, but as a light layer. The pastel blue shade is very soft and easy on the eye, which makes styling it with black jeans the perfect combination. I really like the length of the sleeves, which sets this jumper apart from a lot of the others that I own.

Buying jeans can be a nightmare when it comes to sizing and fit, but I'd have to say that Topshop is my favourite place to buy them from. I'm sure every girl has their 'holy grail' jeans. You know, the ones that come in lots of different styles, and actually fit perfectly! For me, it's Topshop's Joni jeans. I love how you can choose the correct size for your waist and leg length, which makes buying any jeans from Topshop so much easier. Of course, I've gone for my black Joni jeans in this outfit. They are just so easy to wear and style, and they go so well with the pastel blue jumper.

I decided to dress this outfit up with my black lace-up heels from River Island, because you could easily dress it down with a pair of flats or trainers, but I thought I'd add a bit of edge with some heels. These heels are in a lot of my posts, as they're definitely a favourite of mine.

METRO MERCH...

Band tees are something I love to buy when I go to concerts, so when I went to see one of my favourite bands, Metro Station, back in October last year, I knew I had to get some new merchandise...

One of my favourite things about band tees is how comfy and easy to style they are. You can throw them on over jeans, shorts, or leggings, along with a pair or trainers or Converse, for a casual daytime look. Alternatively, you can dress them up with a pair of heels, for a slightly quirkier look. I decided to tie the top in the corner, to make it fit a little tighter, and give it a slightly edgier look. The colour of this top would go really well with neutral colours, so you would have various options for what to wear with it. Personally, I would keep it classic and simple with a pair of black jeans or leggings.

These Joni jeans from Topshop are super comfortable and figure hugging, which is perfect for my style. Black jeans can be worn with so many different things, but I love how they look with an oversized band tee. The contrast between the baggy top and tight jeans makes the whole outfit look that much more casual and comfortable.

You could definitely add a pop of colour to this outfit with some bright heels, but I decided to keep it casual and neutral with these brown boots. I love the design of these boots, and they're really comfortable to wear with lots of different outfits. The white faux-fur trim just adds that extra bit of detail, which I think keeps the whole outfit very neutral, but very comfy and easy to wear.

THE ROMAN BATHS...

If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you may have seen that last week, I visited the beautiful city of Bath. During my stay, I decided to do some touristy bits, so the Roman Baths were certainly top of that list.

There is a lot of history and information to be absorbed, from the minute you walk in, right the way through to the end. You are also given an audio guide at the start, enabling you to learn even more about each part of the historical attraction. You can walk around and explore at your own pace, which is great if you're like me, and hate to be rushed around! If you ever get to visit Bath, I would definitely recommend a trip to the Roman Baths. More information can be found here: The Roman Baths

Now, back to the fashion side of things. I thought I'd take a few outfit shots whilst wandering around, making the most of the wonderful location...

Comfort is definitely an important factor to think about when visiting an attraction like this, as you would be required to walk around the whole way. There are also a few uneven bits of ground to be prepared for, so good footwear is a must. I chose my sturdy boots from Topshop - these never let me down. They're really comfortable, and great to wear with jeans or leggings.

Leggings are an essential item for any wardrobe, because they offer a great level of comfort, and can be worn in various ways to create completely diverse looks. They are versatile enough to wear with pretty much anything. For example, you can style them with a long top, like I did in this post, or under dresses, skirts, or with a plaid shirt.

This sleeveless top goes so well with a pair of plain black leggings and boots. The length of this top is perfect to wear alongside full-length leggings, as it makes for a comfortable outfit, that's super easy to piece together. This sleeveless top has such a simple, yet pretty design, and I love how the colours all work together really well.

AZTEC APPAREL...

It's the 1st of June, which means that summer has officially started here in the UK - and about time, too!

Summer is all about colour, and this aztec crop top is perfect for days out in the sun, or even dressing up for a night out. The pastel shades and shapes in this top complement each other so well, and I think it would be a great top to wear to a festival or outdoor event, because of its design and colour. The open back is my favourite part of the overall design, as the crossover straps really set it apart from any other crop top, and the little details can really make the biggest difference.

This black skirt is a staple item in my wardrobe, as it goes with pretty much anything, and it can be styled on its own with a pair of heels, or with tights and boots. I like the short length, and I find that it fits me best as a high-waisted skirt. You can, of course, style it to make you feel the most comfortable. Priced at £3.00, there really is no reason not to add this little black skirt to your wardrobe.

You've probably seen these lace-up heels in a lot of my other posts (because they're my favourite), but I just love the design of these shoes, as they're perfect to wear alongside an outfit for a night out. They add that touch of glamour, without taking too much away from the rest of the outfit. The black shoes and black skirt help to enhance the colours in the crop top, which is the stand-out item for me in this post.
